Click to Learn
Exercises were created and designed by a licensed physical therapist in
collaboration with a multimedia specialist.
This
site is designed for physical therapists primarily, but can also be utilized by
other health professionals that prescribe exercises to their patients/ clients.
Click2Learn Exercise Programs is an ideal tool for
providing home exercises in the out-patient environment. However,
there are additional applications for in-patient and
rehabilitation patient populations that are transitioning to
out-patient settings.
After a patient receives their initial instruction from a therapist in the
clinic regarding their home program, they will follow up in their home by
logging on and viewing their home program via the web. They can watch the
exercises you have selected for them as many times as need be. Your patient
should know how to perform the exercises safely and correctly when they arrive
for their next visit to the clinic.
Better management of home programs.
A Click2learn account will allow therapists to create unique, private HEP
accounts for their patients to view at home via the internet. These accounts
will contain the exact exercises the therapist has selected for their patient,
with the desired exercise volume (sets and reps),
and
any special instructions prescribed by the therapist.
Exercises will be grouped by the date they are assigned and listed
accordingly when the therapist reviews the account. The account will be able to
be modified at any time to accommodate the progression of the patient.
Exercises can be given inactive status in a patient’s account so that old
exercises can be removed from patient access and saved in an "archived"
section. This will allow the therapist to keep the HEP concise, while allowing
the progression of exercises to be easily viewed by the therapist. This should
help minimize confusion for the patient by controlling the number of exercises
they can view.
Accounts will be valid during the entire time a patient is receiving therapy
at your facility, but will also be saved in the system for your records once the
patient has been discharged. All data will be retrievable in the case that a
patient returns to your facility at a later date.

Traditionally, providing home programs has been a cost that physical therapy
departments have had to absorb as part of providing physical
therapy service. Commercial programs have been designed to either run on a PC
in your office or come in the form of pre-printed cards that can be photocopied
for patients to take home. These programs are expensive, costing your facility
hundreds of dollars to purchase initially with additional charges to follow if
you wish to expand your basic exercise library. Our site charges a low monthly
subscription fee ($29.99) with a usage based fee schedule. See “Pricing” for
more information.
Due to the value and convenience of this service, we believe that the general
public will be willing to pay a small, one time fee ($5.00 to $10.00
recommended) to have this type of account set up for them. This fee could be
collected at their first visit to your facility, similar to a co-pay. For the
cost of a piece of elastic tubing, they will be able to view their HEP in a
state of the art format as many times as they wish from their home or office.
Better staff productivity.
Retention of the information
should
far surpass what you are accustomed to using printed materials, which will
minimize the need for repeat instruction. This will free up valuable time for
the therapist during future visits, allowing more time to focus on hands-on
therapy that cannot be provided at home. This concept becomes especially
relevant for those patients that are limited to their total number of office
visits due to insurance restrictions or high co-pays.
Portability of home programs.
If you have ever wanted
to
update a patient’s home program remotely, you now will have that ability.
Account management can be done without the need for a patient to physically be
in the clinic! This can be a great service to your patients that travel or call
you with a need for “a few stretches” or “an exercise or two” due to a recent
exacerbation of their condition. You might not be able to get them into the
clinic that day, but if you felt it was appropriate, you could confidently add a
few exercises to their exercise account for them to trial until their next
office visit.
